Roadmap

What comes after the launch release

Plate Software launches as a desktop production application. The plan beyond that is published here so you can see where your licence is going before you buy it — described, not scheduled.

Core

Create and print road-use plates

A complete road-use plate production product: the full format library, the layout rules, printer profiles, calibration and the production queue.

  • Road-use plate designer and template library
  • Printer profiles and calibration
  • Production queue and print history
  • Local project saving, backup and restore
  • One Production Licence

Essential

Everything in Core with two additional workspaces, so show plate and sign work stays in the same application as your road plate production.

  • Everything in Core
  • Show Plate workspace
  • Sign workspace
  • Creative assets and layer control
  • Production PDF, raster and supported vector export

Professional

PlannedIndicative £349/year

Essential plus users, records, documents and compliance

The point at which Plate Software stops being only a design and printing tool and starts keeping the records a plate business is expected to keep.

  • Organisation account with named staff accounts and roles
  • Customer records
  • Plate sale records
  • Document references and encrypted document uploads
  • Compliance workflow and inspection exports
  • Basic order workflow
  • Web control centre

Business

PlannedIndicative £699/year

Professional plus full operations, trade and inventory

For businesses running the whole operation through the platform rather than only the production side of it.

  • Full order management
  • Trade and credit accounts
  • Inventory and purchase orders
  • Multi-location management
  • Trade portal
  • Standard integrations and API
  • Reporting

Enterprise

ContractedFrom £5,000/year

Modular deployment, governance, security and scale

Modular and annual-contract only. Enterprise customers pay for the modules they use rather than being pushed through a fixed tier ladder.

  • Enterprise foundation plus selected functional modules
  • SSO and custom security review
  • Contracted SLA and onboarding
  • Scale pricing
  • Optional source escrow, separately negotiated

Prices for tiers that have not been released are indicative and will be reviewed before those tiers ship. Introductory pricing is expected when each one first becomes genuinely available, limited by date or customer count and protected for the initial twelve months only.

01How we handle the roadmap

Four rules we hold ourselves to

A roadmap is easy to publish and easy to quietly abandon. These are the commitments that make ours worth reading.

No dates we cannot keep

Future capability is described, not scheduled. A tier ships when it passes its release and quality gates, not because a roadmap slide said a quarter.

Nothing appears half-built in the product

Future features live in a single Roadmap area inside the application. You will not find disabled buttons and greyed-out sections scattered through the workspace.

Your key migrates, you do not repurchase

Launch licence keys are designed as redeemable business entitlements. When the account platform arrives you claim your key into an organisation and keep your tier, expiry, licence quantity and activated computers.

Improvements to what you bought are included

Core and Essential customers receive improvements to the design and printing capability they paid for. What they do not automatically receive is a different, higher tier.

Buying now does not lock you out of any of this

Your launch licence key is designed to be claimed into an organisation account when one exists, keeping your tier, expiry date, Production Licence quantity and activated computers. Nobody has to repurchase or reinstall to migrate.
