What a backup covers

Your saved projects, your template library, your printer profiles and their calibration values, and your business and supplier settings.

It does not include your licence. Your entitlement is restored by activating with your key, not by restoring a file.

Making one

  1. Open Backup and restore.
  2. Choose what to include.
  3. Write the backup somewhere that is not the same physical machine.
  4. Keep at least one recent copy off-site.

Worth knowing. Take a backup before rebuilding a machine, changing computer, or making significant changes to your template library.

Restoring

  1. Install and activate Plate Software on the new computer.
  2. Open Backup and restore and select your backup file.
  3. Choose what to restore.
  4. Check your printer profiles and reprint a calibration test — the new machine's printer will not necessarily behave like the old one's.
