Setting up your printer

Profiles, media sizes and assigning printers to faces.

Plate Software lists the printers already installed in Windows. If one is missing here, install it in Windows first and then reopen Print setup.

Creating a profile

  1. Open Print setup and choose Add profile.
  2. Select the Windows printer the profile refers to.
  3. Set the paper or media size, including a custom size if your blanks need one.
  4. Set orientation, and Mirror if you print onto laser film.
  5. Save the profile with a name you will recognise on a busy day.

Worth knowing. Keep one profile per printer and media combination. A profile that tries to cover two different blanks will be wrong for both.

Front and rear on different machines

Assign a profile to each face in Print setup. Pair printing then sends the two jobs to the correct printers without you changing anything between them.
